SUUUUUPER. I can’t say anything yet, because it has been under repair for 9 years. Hands do not reach. Level design. Pretty comfortable lounge easy to get in and out, not vylazit. Small gas tank and trunk. But it attracts attention. Behind the wheel I feel like a star!

I bought the car 5 years ago with the aim of restoring it and going out into the world from time to time. I want to note right away that I myself do not know how to repair, so the process took quite a long time and was relatively expensive. During all this time, running about 1000km as the car has always been 2m or 3m car. But what a pleasure it is to drive a car of which there are only a hundred in the city, and even then not all of them are in such a state. This is a real head turner, and no one will ever remain indifferent. Tuning exhaust pipes produce a sound comparable to Harley Davidson on the phone is impossible to speak. On sharp turns at speed, the rear skids, since the engine is behind and the weight distribution is uneven. In first gear, it is quite possible to accelerate to 60, although the norm is 40 gears are very long. Now the car is for sale for the banal reason that you just need money.

The craving for restoration appeared a long time ago, I really like to tinker with cars, but I’m self-taught, I just like to do something with my own hands. My first, let’s say, restored auto Volkswagen transporter in 1982, a truck with a double cab, I have had it since 1998. Restoration did without welding, putty dubbed primed and gave to paint. It turned out quite well. Orange with a white roof and white rims from a Mercedes in the back 9 in front 7 look great, people welcome you on the road. In October 2014, I found it, bought it for 1000 euros, it looked good outwardly, there was not much rust, technically it seemed to be in good order, but without maintenance for several years, and the pass glass did not open yet and the gear shift was junk, but I didn’t care about everything I bought. I sat down and came to the garage, the cops didn’t get caught, otherwise I flew into a fine. Having studied the beetle, I found what I expected – yes, restoration is needed, but the external panels, hoods, fenders, doors were in good condition. It was necessary to work inside, the thresholds under the wings, the bottom of the rear and front of the cabin were just dust. This did not upset me because I took it for restoration in order to solve the problems of cutting the rusty, putting it alive, docking, etc. I have a double garage with 3 cars, but during the repair one had to be put under the gate. And so I unscrewed the floor from the body and still need to unscrew the steering arm and calling a couple of men took off the body, put it next to the goats. The men shook
heads from what they saw, thoughtfully wished good luck. But then nothing scared me. Yes, it is necessary to reject almost the entire bottom, but so what? so we will reject and cut off! I bought two standard sheets of iron, metal scissors and it took 2 months for this stage of work, all holes, all rusty places were cut off, welded, treated with some kind of nonsense for welding and primed! YES, instead of thresholds, I put a 40×80 pipe bent as it should and welded. There are a lot of photos of this stage, I’ll put a look. So then the second stage, I put the floor back (the floor was in good condition, I https://cars45et.com/listing/chevrolet/suburban just made two holes and welded it). I screwed it up, made the steering and brakes and put the wires back, checked everything starts up and works. The second stage – preparation for painting and of course the correction of small flaws in the first stage – after all, almost the entire bottom was cut out, and there was no Beetle next to me to take the dimensions and I didn’t have books on the beetle. But I must admit that there were no misses, because the floor was nearby and I was guided by it. At the second stage, I still had to reject a few more pieces of doors, a hood, a lower front and a storm drain in front of the front door, and even welded a hole from the antenna that had grown from corrosion. Then the puttying stage, the sanding was tedious for a long time, all by myself, and at the end, when everything seemed to be ready, he invited a specialist for 3 days to prepare and paint. They worked for a week, I rejected any little things, reviewed the whole car and smoothed it with my hand because the eye does not see irregularities, but the hand feels. Here is December 30, 2015 painted it turned out well, here
a little warmer will polish and assemble interior, engine and other units in order. There is quite a bit left and everything needs to be thought about what is next for restoration.
